About May Marie

The 44ft May Marie was built by McManaway in Picton.  She spent her early years as a Cook Strait cray boat before moving north and taking guests on many happy charters in Doubtless Bay.  She is now based in Opua, operating out of Paihia and Russell.

May Marie is powered with a 450hp Detroit and is equipped with excellent facilities for your safe and happy adventure charter fishing in our beautiful Bay of Islands.

On-board, we have plenty of room to find your spot fishing or to relax in the cabin with a cuppa.  There is shade out the back to ward off the sun or protect from rain.   We also have full flush toilet facilities.

May Marie is very stable, offers a comfortable ride even on the rougher days and is perfect for either cruising the beautiful Bay of Islands or enjoying a fun-filled day fishing (or both!).
